Getting Started

The Obesity CodeIt's clear that I did not get my goals online, as I'd said that I would. It's part of my struggle that I procrastinate... especially with regards to my fitness. Still, I have not be sitting idly by, hoping for some divine inspiration. I have spent this time, researching and "reading". I put reading in quotations, because, technically I've been listening to audiobooks, via Audible.

I've listen to a few of my go-to favorites; Body for Life (Bill Phillips), The Body Fat Solution and Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle (Tom Venuto). They are great books, which served me well in the past, before my current state of un-fit.

I have not given up on these methods, because they do work. However, I needed something different, something to help me address my unique set challenges. We all have our own challenges, our our bodies, our own stories. We are each, one of of kind, and the idea that there is a one-size-fits-all fitness regimen, is bogus.

I'm not saying I have the solution, I'm saying that I am open to trying new ways to understand, to love and to transform my unique body.

To that end, I recently "read" The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung (3x) and The Bulletproof Diet by Dave Asprey. I found both books to helpful in filling in some of the gaps in my understanding of and relationship with, fat. I think I am finally ready to do this.

Starting tomorrow, May 28, 2017, my goal is to be 150 pounds by this date next year. I have  my fat percentage between 19 -  22% , to have a lean physique and a more active lifestyle. To that end, as of tomorrow, no more sugar or no processed foods and a minimum of 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. There is more, but I just wanted to put something out there.
